The Carr Golf Approach
Special golfing experiences require a special attitude. From our foundation to the present, we’ve been obsessed with the details that make a real difference to your journey.
Surpassing your expectations
All you need to know
Golf is played year round in New Zealand. But its seasons are the reverse of the Northern Hemisphere. Therefore, October to February is the best time for temperatures, daylight hours, and playing conditions. January and February are the busiest months.
Early planning is vital to guarantee tee times at New Zealand’s most popular golf courses, especially if you intend to visit during peak season (December-February).Ideally, you should contact the Carr Golf team 12 months before your preferred travel dates.
You require both. Your passport should be valid for at least 3 months after you depart New Zealand. Also, American and Canadian citizens must obtain a NZeTA(New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority)for pre-travel clearance.
You can book long haul direct flights to Auckland Airport from the following North American cities:
New Zealand Standard Time (NZST) is 17 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time and 20 hours ahead of Pacific Standard Time in America.NZST is 18 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time and 21 hours ahead of Pacific Standard Time inCanada.
The local currency is the New Zealand dollar (NZD/$).You can check the latest international exchange rates here. Visa, Mastercard, and American Express are commonly used credit cards. But Diners Club is no longer accepted.
It’s a personal choice, but we recommend purchasing travel and medical insurance before your trip. Our partner, Warren Peterson of TravelersMed.com, will be happy to help. You can call Warren toll free at 1800-584-3512.
Yes. You can ship your gear door-to-door with our trusted partner, Ship Sticks. It’s a convenient, cost-effective way to guarantee your clubs and luggage arrive in New Zealand on time. Explore this personalised service below.
New Zealand’s weather is predictably unpredictable. So pack to keep cool, warm, and dry on the golf course. It’s always smart to dress in layers and to opt for comfortable apparel with flexible, moisture-wicking fabrics.
Here’s our recommended golf gear:
Most golf clubs in New Zealand offer electric carts and pull-buggies for rental. However, some clubs (like Te Arai), allow a limited number of carts on the course each day. We recommend pre-booking carts or buggies with your package.
