Arrowtown Golf Club offers a golfing experience unlike the larger championship layouts around Queenstown. Opened in 1911, it sits within the historic gold mining town of Arrowtown and uses its rugged ground to full effect. The course moves through rocky terrain and natural schist formations, creating fairways that feel intimate, varied and closely tied to the land.Â
At 5,593 yards, this par-70 layout is not defined by length, but by placement, control and a willingness to embrace uneven lies and natural hazards. Its unpolished character is part of its appeal. Rather than formal shaping, the course leans on the contours and textures already present, giving it a distinctly local identity. For golfers seeking something more traditional and less manicured than a resort setting, Arrowtown provides a memorable round with real personality.
