Set on the Queenstown shoreline, Jack’s Point pairs John Darby’s 2008 design with firm fairways, natural tussock and a bold alpine backdrop beneath The Remarkables.
Jack’s Point Golf Club sits on the shore of Lake Wakatipu, directly beneath The Remarkables, giving the course a setting that is unmistakably Queenstown. Opened in 2008 and designed by John Darby, it is a championship links-style layout that uses natural tussock terrain, firm fairways and strategic bunkering to shape the test.
The course stretches to 7,387 yards and asks for committed shot-making rather than loose aggression. Its routing follows the natural ground, with holes moving close to the lake before turning back through rugged inland terrain. That contrast gives the round both variety and rhythm, while the mountain presence remains constant from start to finish. Jack’s Point stands apart for the way it blends links-playing characteristics with an alpine environment, creating a course that feels visually exacting, spacious and exposed, yet always grounded in the land it occupies. Every hole feels carefully placed within it.
