Causeway Coast access

Pairs naturally with Dunluce and nearby links

Opened in 1895 and later refined by Harry Colt, the Valley Links at Royal Portrush sits in the shadow of its renowned Dunluce neighbour yet offers a distinctly engaging test in its own right. Routed across gently undulating terrain, the course relies less on scale and more on precision, positioning and the subtle use of natural contours.

Colt’s influence is evident in the shaping of the greens, where approach angles and distance control are key. The layout encourages thoughtful shot-making, with firm fairways allowing the ball to run and gather in unpredictable ways. While shorter in yardage, the course remains exposed to coastal conditions, demanding adaptability throughout the round. As part of one of Ireland’s most historic clubs, the Valley Links provides a complementary experience that rewards strategic play and offers a quieter, more intimate perspective on links golf.
