Redesigned by Beau Welling with Paul McGinley, the par-72 course measures 6,760 yards and blends resort playability with a more exacting strategic edge. Water hazards shape several decisions from the tee and into the greens, asking for disciplined placement rather than force. The layout sits within the wider Quinta do Lago Resort, giving it the polished presentation and easy access expected of one of Portugal’s established golf addresses.Â
Its 2014 redesign is the defining thread, sharpening the course’s tournament character while keeping it approachable for travelling golfers. For many itineraries, North works especially well alongside Quinta do Lago South and Laranjal, offering a distinct contrast within the same resort base. It is a contemporary Algarve round built on clean design, measured challenge, and the convenience of a leading coastal golf setting today.
