Set on the Sandwich shoreline, Prince’s Golf Club offers three distinct nines across a historic 27-hole links. Open pedigree, varied routing and stay-and-play convenience at The Lodge give it unusual depth on England’s Kent coast.
Prince’s Golf Club sits on the Sandwich coastline in Kent and presents one of England’s most flexible championship links tests. Opened in 1906, the course has evolved through the work of Charles Hutchings, Sir Guy Campbell and John Morrison into a 27-hole layout made up of the Shore, Dunes and Himalayas nines.
That structure gives the club unusual variety, allowing different 18-hole combinations while preserving the feel of a traditional seaside links. Prince’s place in championship history is secure through the 1932 Open Championship, won here by Gene Sarazen, and the club continues to stage Final Qualifying for The Open as well as major amateur events including the Women’s Amateur Championship. There is scale here, but also practicality, with on-site lodge accommodation adding genuine stay-and-play ease. For golfers planning a Kent links itinerary, Prince’s offers both tournament pedigree and the depth of a three-loop seaside course.
