Trump International Golf Links Ireland sits on the edge of Doughmore Bay, where wide dunes and open Atlantic exposure define the experience. Opened in 2002 to a design by Greg Norman, the course was later refined by Martin Hawtree to respond to coastal change and evolving playing lines.Â
The layout flows naturally through broad dune corridors, with generous fairways that narrow subtly into well-placed green complexes. Wind is a constant factor, shifting direction across the round and demanding adaptability rather than brute force. Several holes run directly along the shoreline, while others turn inland through more sheltered terrain, creating variation in both strategy and feel. At 7,026 yards, it presents a substantial test without losing playability. The accompanying hotel and facilities complete a fully integrated links destination on Ireland’s western coast.
