Praia D’El Rey Golf Course opened in 1997 and remains one of the Silver Coast’s most established layouts. Designed by Cabell B. Robinson, the par-73 course stretches to 7,144 yards and is best known for the way it shifts in character across the round. Several holes run close to the Atlantic, where the setting feels open and exposed, while other stretches move inland through pine forest and more sheltered terrain. That contrast gives the course its identity: part links-style challenge, part tree-lined resort test. The routing asks for adaptability rather than one fixed style of play, particularly when the wind rises along the coastal holes. Praia D’El Rey has also hosted the Open de Portugal, underlining its championship standing within the region. For golfers playing Óbidos and the wider Silver Coast, it offers a mature, proven layout with variety built into every phase of the round.
