Enniscrone Golf Club’s Dunes Championship Links stretches along a broad Atlantic coastline in County Sligo, where the land rises and folds into some of the largest dunes in Ireland. When Eddie Hackett first laid out the course in 1970, he worked with the natural movement of the terrain, creating a routing that felt grounded in place.Â
Donald Steel later extended the layout, adding holes that venture further into the dune system and giving the course its present scale. At 7,029 yards and playing to a distinctive par 73, Enniscrone offers a different rhythm to most links, with long par fours, reachable par fives and constantly changing lies. The outward nine introduces the landscape, while the inward stretch moves into more dramatic ground where fairways weave between steep sand hills. It is a course shaped as much by nature as by design.
