The Palmer North Course at The K Club opened in 1991 and stands as one of Ireland’s most recognised parkland venues. Designed by Arnold Palmer, the course is routed through the Straffan estate with the River Liffey weaving through the layout and shaping strategy across a number of holes. Its defining moment came in 2006 when it hosted the Ryder Cup, placing it firmly on the international stage, alongside multiple European Open and Irish Open stagings.Â
The course plays to par 72 at 7,350 yards and is known for precise conditioning and a tournament-ready presentation throughout the season. Water hazards demand careful placement rather than power alone, while tree-lined fairways frame a composed, balanced test. As part of The K Club resort, it offers a polished playing experience within easy reach of Dublin, making it a natural centrepiece for any Irish parkland itinerary.
