Amendoeira Faldo Course

Opened in 2007, the Faldo Course at Amendoeira Golf Resort brings Sir Nick Faldo’s strategic eye to the inland Algarve. Rather than relying on coastal drama, it uses shaping, angles and exact placement to test decision-making from the first tee onwards. The layout has a distinctly desert-style character, with exposed earth tones, rugged bunkering and limestone outcrops giving several holes a harder visual edge than many Portuguese resort courses. Fairways appear generous in places, yet the course continually asks for the correct line into greens and the discipline to resist overly ambitious shots. That balance of width and consequence gives the round its character. 

Set near Alcantarilha in the Central Algarve, it offers a thoughtful change of pace within the region, favouring strategy over spectacle and rewarding golfers who enjoy plotting their way around a course designed to ask questions throughout. It is measured, testing resort golf with real intent.
